December 2020 Newsletter
Director’s Thoughts, December 2020
As the car season comes to a close for 2020, we can only hope and pray that 2021 will be kinder to all of America. I know some of you have attended car events this past season, but certainly the number of events held, was not what it should have been. Hopefully by January/February, the usual events, Automania and the Atlantic City event, will be able to be held and then the season will take off after that!
Now that your BUICK is in hibernation for the winter, what do you do for fun? How do you spend your “free” time? I can only imagine some ideas that come to my mind: read books, visit family, sleep late, cook more, listen to music, continue your job working, knit/crochet/embroider/sew, house cleaning, Sudoku, putting together puzzles, baking goodies, shopping, play games w/ grandchildren and or family, skiing, ice skating, snow tubing, etc. etc. Or, maybe your BUICK developed a tick or noise here and there. So you need to investigate it and repair it. Or, maybe change the oil or radiator fluid. Hopefully you do not have any type of major repair to be done. Just sit back and enjoy a few months of peace and quiet!
As the Christmas holiday season is now upon us, we want to remember our families and friends. This is the time to share everyone’s happiness and gratitude. Put your differences to the way side and let’s rejoice one another each and every day!
From our home to your home, “HAPPY HOLIDAYS” to everyone! Sally Getz and family

What is the Main Ingredient of WD-40?
Does anyone know what the main ingredient of WD-40? WD-40 – who knew! A friend had a neighbor who bought a new BUICK. He got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides of his white Buick! He went over, woke him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do……probably nothing till Monday AM since nothing was open. Another neighbor came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and DID NOT harm his paint that was on the BUICK! That neighbor was impressed!
WD-40, who knew! The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953, by 3 technicians @ the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a “WATER DISPLACEMENT” compound. They were finally successful for a formulation, with their 40th attempt, thus WD-40. This product contains NOTHING that would hurt you!
Out of 43 uses, the following are the most crucial:
- Removes tar and grime from BUICKS
- Keeps flies off of cows, horses, and other farm critters as well
- Removes lipstick stains
- Removes dirt and grime from BBQ grill
- Removes tomato stains from clothing
- Keeps scissors working smoothly
- Lubricates noisy door hinges on both home and BUICK doors
- Removes nasty bug guts that will eat away the finish on your BUICK if not removed quickly
- Lubricates gearshift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers
- Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in BUICKS, also on vinyl bumpers
- Restores and cleans roof racks on BUICKS
- Folks spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain
- If you spray it inside a wet distributor cap, it will displace the moisture, allowing the engine to start
As for that BASIC ingredient…Well… it’s FISH OIL!! Who knew!?
